The Brett Adkins Scholarship Foundation is dedicated to empowering deserving students by providing scholarships for higher education. In addition, we support organizations that offer mentorship and vital academic assistance through grants for college students. To sustain our impactful programs, we rely on generous donations from our community. Our foundation proudly shares remarkable success stories from students whose lives have been transformed by the Brett Adkins Scholarship grants.

Meet Alena McQuarter

Alena McQuarter is the youngest black student to be accepted into medical school in the United States, and the second-youngest person to be accepted into medical school overall. She is also the youngest person ever to work as an intern at NASA. Alena is the youngest Brett Adkins Scholarship recipient. She graduated from Arizona State University Magna Cumety Laude with a Dean's Medal (the highest honor given to one graduating senior in their respective schools). 

She graduated with her Master's Degree in Biological Sciences on May 10th, 2024 and is currently attend ing Loma Linda University to pursue her Phd In Infectious Disease and Immunity. She is a true example of why BASF exists and we are committed to helping Alena achieve the highest level of college education possible!
